Merlynston Market is located on the Bain Reserve, just 50m from Merlynston train station on the Upfield line. It is easily accessed by public transport, with trains every 20 minutes during the day and the 530, 531 and 534 bus routes all passing close-by. It is an easy 10 minute stroll from the terminus of the number 19 tram line on Sydney Road. There is also plentiful parking available at the train station.
Merlynston estate was first established in 1920 and was named after the daughter of the estate's original owner, Donald Bain. Who can have a stall at the market?
Any supplier of homemade, handmade and homegrown products who resides in Moreland can have a stall at the Merlynston Market.
What time should I arrive to set-up on the day?
All stall holders will need to be set up by 10am. Bump in time is from 8.00am.
What time will the event finish?
The event will start at 10am and finish at 4pm.
What do I have to provide as a stallholder?
You will need to provide your own 3mx3m marquis and trestle table. You will also need to provide any other equipment required for your stall.
When do I have to pay for my stall?
Before the event, once you have been accepted as a stall holder, an email will be sent to you with payment details.
Do I need public liability insurance?
Every stall holder will need to have product & public liability insurance. If you do not have your own insurance policy, you can choose to be covered by the Merlynston Market’s insurance policy. There will be an additional fee to your stall fee of $10 for this.
Will there be food available?
Yes there will be food and drink available at the Merlynston Market.
Is the market under cover?
No the market will be held at Bain Reserve and is not undercover.
Is there an admission fee?
No there is no admission fee.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes dogs are allowed however they will need to be kept on a leash.
Is this event suitable for people in a wheelchair?
Yes there is ample space for people in wheelchairs.
Is this going to be a regular market?
The intention is for the Merlynston Market to become a regular event.

There is ample parking available surrounding the market at the Merlynston Train Station car park which is 30 meters away.
